Two critical security vulnerabilities have recently been identified in PHP, the programming language powering many business websites, applications, and content management systems.
On October 21, 2026, the PHP development team released security updates addressing CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619, both rated 9.2 out of 10 in severity.
These vulnerabilities could potentially allow unauthorized attackers to execute malicious code on affected servers.
What Does This Mean for Your Business?
If your organization relies on PHP-based websites or applications, it’s important to confirm that your hosting environment has received the necessary security updates.
Some managed hosting providers have already implemented protections and applied patches automatically. However, organizations using independently managed servers, VPS hosting, or custom infrastructure may need to take additional action.
What Should You Check?
- PHP version: Confirm that your environment is running a security-patched PHP release.
- Hosting infrastructure: Check whether your hosting provider has applied the relevant fixes.
- Server configuration: Review security settings and exposure to known vulnerabilities.
- Website and application security: Confirm that existing controls, dependencies, and monitoring are functioning as expected.
Not Sure If Your Environment Is Protected?
Security updates are essential, but knowing whether your systems are properly configured and protected is equally important.
At Liquid Technologies, we can help your team review its PHP environment, identify potential security gaps, and determine whether further action is required.
